File associations

When I double click a ppt file the systems tries to open it with word. I was
trying to change the icon for the file (it stopped showing the proper icon
today for some reason). If I go to properties for the file and select open
the next screen doesn't offer powerpoint a choice. Now if I try to open any
powerpoint file by clicking it the sysetm tries to open it with word. I can
still open the files from within powerpoint. How do I get powerpoint to come
up as a choice?
 
Hi there

This is to do with your folder options in Windows and there are a cuple of
ways to fix it. Probably easiest is right click a .ppt file->'Open with' ->
'choose program' -> select Microsoft Office PowerPoint and tick the box that
says 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' (or
something similar).

If that doesn't help post back and I'll tell you another way :-)
