Dear all
I have just created a DVD from a VHS Video. It plays fine in Windows media
player if I tell it to run using The Media Player, however if I try and play
the DVD using WinDVD, I get the following message:-

"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this
action. Create an association in the folders options control panel."

I have tried to associate this, but it still does not work and I still get
the above message.

Perhaps I am not using the right file association, but I do not know what I
am doing, this is the first time I have come across this.
This is the first time I have created a DVD Disc from a Video.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Yours
Barry

All e-mails are scanned for viruses etc prior to sending.

Follow this :

Start>Settings>Control Panel>Folder Options

Once there create a new file association.

Program and file associations are different.

Example of file associations,

DVD is *.ifo, *.vob
VCD is *.mpg, *.mpeg

Dear Ted
Many thanks,
I have tried all you suggest, but seem to come up against a brick wall, must
be something I am doing.

The Disk will not autorun, but if I click on autoplay, it shows
Play DVD movie using InterVideo WinDVD and Play DVD Video using Windows
Media Player.

I tried setting up a new association, but must be doing something wrong. I
can however play the disk using Windows Media player.

Any further advice most welcome
Barry
