I use Firefox for browsing but my links seem to have become disassociated
with the product (no icon and no program found when I click the link).

How do I force associations in Vista?

Cheers.

Since Firefox is not a Microsoft product, you can't. Didn't you know that
Vista only recognizes Microsoft approved or created hardware / software?
It's all about money and forced domination.

Cha-Ching! Hear that cash register ring! You company has to pony up to
Microsoft or Vista won't work with your product.

Thanks. That was very strightforward.

But my problem is not what I described.

I want to be able to click on a hyperlink (inside an e-mail message for
example) and it open Firefox. This has stopped working for me. How do I do
that? When I try I get an "Application not found" error message.

Cheers.

What mail program are you using, if I may ask? Maybe its not recognizing
Firefox even though Firefox may be the default browser.

Use your newsreader (Windows Mail) to check into
news://mozilla.support.firefox
and ask there

Can you tell me where I can find this group?

You WERE told.

The URL is news://mozilla.support.firefox If you can click on the link
it should go directly to that newsgroup,IF who you access your
newsgroups from carries that group.

For newbies:

Newsgroups are different than web pages. A web page has a STATIC
address. In order words the physical file is located on ONE computer
somewhere and the URL points to it. Popular sites may be mirrored
elsewhere.

Newsgroups work differently. Your ISP or a third party provider
maintains a news server. These are linked to many thousands of other
news servers all over the world. In order to access any newsgroup,
your provider has to carry it. When somebody makes a post a physical
copy of it gets sends to every news server all over the world and what
you are accessing is that copy of the post or attachment. Not all
ISP's or third party providers carry every newsgroup. Even if they do
there can be delays or some parts of the file which are sent in
packets get "lost" and may not show up for awhile if ever.

Mozilla.org runs its own news server. You can add a new
news account in your newsreader for 'news.mozilla.org' and
subscribe to the group there.
