A few weeks ago all of the names on my address cards
disappeared. No data was lost, but in both the address
card views and the list views, the "file as" field is
blank (with the exception of one contact, added recently).
Outlook won't allow me to edit this field in a folder
view. If I open the contact, however, the "file as" field
is correct and can be edited. When I close the form, it
still shows up blank in the folder view.
Any newly created contacts show up in the folder view with
blank file as fields.
Using the quick jump keys reveals that the data is
actually null in the folder view and not just invisible
(eg. clicking "a" scrolls me directly to the end of the
list).
If I move the contacts to another mailbox, they show up
correctly, but when I move them back, the "file as" field
goes blank again. The one contact that appeared correctly
in the original mailbox, appears blank in the new mailbox!
I can create new contacts in the new mailbox and they work
correctly.
I've tried many ways to fix this, but have made no
progress.
Thanks,
Doug
