File As Display Not Jiving???

Using Outlook 2003 I have set the default "File As" order
option to be: COMPANY (Last,First) and this does work at
the contact record level. But the _display_ of the "File
As" in the general contacts windows shows up as COMPANY,
Last, First as well as in any Meeting/Task/Note when you
click on the Contacts button for each.

Basically I need those display items and logic behind it
to allow for the default COMPANY (Last, First) as set due
to the fact that I use Agendus For Windows (a CRM
overlay) that passes the data in this format. This
should work as designed?????

Help!!!

Please reread your post and see if it makes sense to you.
It makes no sense to me, but I'm not very bright.
The settings you chose work, yet you don't want them to work in some
circumstances?

Hopefully this will help clarify...

1) Set your File As Default Option to be Company (LN, FN)
in Options, Contact Options

2) Change one of your contacts "File As" properties by
editing that contact and changing the appropriate field,
notice it will display Company (LN, FN). This is where
it works.

3) Now at the main listing of all of the contacts (choose
phone list display) you will notice that the display of
the File As is Company, LN, FN (Note the comma's not the
brackets)

4) As well try entering a task or a meeting and assign it
to a contact, you will notice that the File As is
Company, LN, FN

5) I have an application called Agendus that is an
overlay to Outlook (CRM stuff) and it posts Company (LN,
FN) to the contacts field but Outlook does not find that
contact because of the Company, LN, FN issue....

Thanks for your help!!

Lajos

So, if I understand correctly, the problem here is simply the lack of
brackets (parentheses) in some views?
I know of no fix for that.

Actually it is deeper than that due to the fact that the (parentheses) appear
to be part of the "locator" functionality and since it is looking for
COMPANY, LN, FN it will not find a match???

I am pulling my hair out :<
