File and setting transfer wizard

I had a hard drive that would not boot so installed a new hard drive and made
it the primary (boot) drive. I have the old hard drive in the pc as well and
am able to access it. What I want to know is..what is the best way to get my
files and settings from the old hard drive to the new one? I tried the File
and settings wizard and it seems to work but when I go to check my files they
are not on the new drive. Also it doesn't move over my settings for internet
explorer conections or email accounts. Any thoughts as to what I am doing
wrong or what I can do to get my files and settings over? Thanks in advance
for any help you can give me.

If you used the FAST wizard before the problem - it would be useful. After
the fact - not so useful.

Simply copy the files you need (favorites, my documents, etc.) off the old
hard disk drive and resign yourself to changing the settings as you need to
on your new installation.
 
Run the FTW always from the xp cd (other options button),select settings,
files,etc for it to save,save in new folder you created,once thru,move to
new OS,or move to cd.Once done,reopen FTW

To move files - install Xplorer2lite/FreeCommander ( both use split
screen) go to file in left screen ( old drive ) , and drag and drop to
right screen ( new drive ) . Works very nicely , when I used from 98SE
to XP Home .
