File and Setting Transfer Wizard Problem

B

Brad

Here is my setup.

I am upgrading a WinME machine to XP Pro. I used the File and Settings
Transfer Wizard on the XP CD to backup their files/settings to another
HD isntalled as a slave. This worked fine. I then installed XP Pro.
No Problems there. I then used the XP CD again to start the File and
Setting Transfer Wizard to restore their info on the newly installed
XP pro from the slaved HD. This is where I get the problem. I get
past all the dialog boxes and indicate where the info is to restore.
This process gets 2 bars on the progress indicator (runs for about 1.5
minutes) and then gives me the error that the process could not
continue and that I should check to see if I have enough available
diskspace. Its a 30 gig disk with only 4 gig used. What could be
causing this problem? I have admin permissions.

Any clues/insight would be MOST appreciated.

Cheers,

Brad

R.click the folder, properties, you should see:USMT2.UNC listed for the
folder holding the data,if not maybe wasnt collected properly.Could be
youre working with ME too,the worst of windows.

Andrew,

Thanks for the reply. I do indeed see the properties of the backup as
named
USMT2.UNC so I think it was backup up correctly. (If not, too late
now since I loaded XP Pro after formatting the drive)

I am migrating from ME (which is the closest thing to a virus that you
pay for next to AOL) and that could easily be the culprit.

Anyone else with ideas?

Brad
