I have a client that runs a small peer to peer network. After setting up the
pain in the tail which is Vista folder sharing, life was good. Two days later
the client calls and says she can't access the single shared folder on the
vista machine. I later found out that the file and printer sharing had been
unchecked under the nic. After it was re-checked and applied, it was
functional.
The same thing happened again yesterday. I showed the user how to verify the
settings, but it is getting old. Anybody have any thoughts?
The Vista laptop is an IBM thinkpad running Business edition. I have
disabled the MS software that asks you if your "certain" you want to do that
with every single click. And the antivirus is Computer Associates E-trust
with no firewall functionality.
