I have wireless home network (linksys wireless router
connected to PC and linksys adapter in Laptop). Dsl is
working without any problem. How do I share files between
the systems and how do I share the printer that is
attached to PC?
Wireless networking works the same way as wired networking.
Check the settings for DHCP and make sure all PCs are in the
same IP subnet (for IPA=a.b.c.d, a.b.c should be common and
the d's unique). Check that all are have the same workgroup name
and that each has a unique coumputer name. Check that all
firewall software and AV apps are removed (at least while
debugging the LAN). Check that you have a non-root folder
with a short simple foldername and a short simple sharename
on each PC, and get file sharing working before trying printer
sharing. Check that each PC has TCP/IP with NetBIOS over
TCP/IP; preferably with no other network protocols in use.
Check that each PC has M$forNets and F&Psharing enabled.
Check that you can ping from each PC to each other PC, both
ping-by-number and ping-by-name; if ping-by-number works but
ping-by-name fails, then check your DNS params.
