Hi All

Can't access zip files or certain .mp3 files when hooking my ext hdd to my
win XP laptop, get error 503 but doesn't make sense to me.

In brief...I have an ext HDD with karaoke zip files on that I use on a winXP
"laptop" and my winXP "home" PC.
I then hooked my ext HDD to a friends Vista laptop and copied the contents
to its INT HDD and was asked about permissioins I think and I just clicked
yes.
Now I get the above error and no access to zip files on my winXP "laptop"
but not on my winXP home PC!!!!!

any sugg's

Me again, I just realised it had to do with taking ownership of the files. I
remember doing this on my home pc by adding the security tab to the
properties list and taking ownership from there, but when i hook up to the
laptop (safe mode) it wont let me take ownership so I can acces the files on
the lappy. I'm getting "access denied" and "unable to set new owner"

Any ideas?
