Anybody tried the PC version of this yet? I wondered if it was any good.

Mate of mine just got it and says it's really great, excellent graphics and playability.

Now, I don't like football, I ain't even sure how to play it and I have not a clue on football management.

But said friend assures me that doesn't matter, anybody should enjoy playing it.

If anybody got a point of view on that I'd be pleased to hear from you :)

Ha ha, I can add something to this........

Graphics v good, good all round family game, daughters b'f and hubby love it to death (both a v big footie fans).

I think you're right Flops, fottoball management etc... and lack of it isn't a problem!!

Love

Football...bleugh! ;)

Not really my cuppa tea I'm afraid, but anything is worth a try once... even footy :)

I got it coupla days ago!

i love it, i think im in love
im going to get the xbox version soon, but the pc version is great

one massive fault tho, ea sports have messed up big time

Hi PSD

I am not a footie fan at all but the game is a big hit in this household and it is quite easy for any one to play (I understand!!).

Love

Gabs xx

its ok but forget the football manager element its pants,
and i have the same problem with the usb as well psd,
i have to unplug my headset and mic to play it.

Wait for the next Pro Evolution Soccer game flopps, Fifa is a mere kids game compared ;).

it's not pro evo, so it's rubbish. apart from players' names rights (minor issue anyway), fifa holds no advantages over pro evolution. waste of money

Fifa = poor man's Pro Evo. Played the last few versions of Fifa and they are really poor in terms of gameplay, every goal seems the same and it is easy to score from well outside the box (though it is a little harder on this version). It is ok in multi player but even then it is pretty drab. Pro Evo is the buisness (version 4 was not the greatest, Pro Evo 2 still rocks!), it can get pretty frantic in multi player but it is also possible to play tactical and even play a dirty, defensive game - you can hold on to a one goal lead, play the ball into the corners etc so it is more realistic in terms of how the games play out and it is more fun to play, also more difficulty levels. Apart from the names and dire commentators it is pretty much the perfect footy sim, and you can get a real feeling of frustration when thigs go wrong and joy when they go right (e.g scoring from a free kick, how hard is it in Pro Evo 4!!!) even if your not a big fan of football.

Fifa feels like it is made by people who call it soccer (Canadians I believe), they put graphics first and their attention to detail goes into silly tricks and player's hair cuts not the finer details of football and how it is played, it feels mechanical and arcade like instead of being a genuine football sim, and it is too easy. (Though the stadium atmosphere is quite good)

Anyway rant over, lol.

everyone here is so anti fifa

ive always been a fifa man myself
but everyone keeps telling me to move onto pro evo

im also looking forward to pro evo 5 when it comes out
ill give it a go!

Seconded :thumb:

They are ways and there are ways but some people just ain't got that way, have a little trouble expressing themselves maybe. Or they just be arrogant (which, as any shrink will tell you, equates to insecure ;) ).

Not all though, not all...

Well, I'm still interested and now also interested in Pro Evo.

Think I'll go round me mate's house and try Fifa on his machine before making a decision.

One other thing, I did mention at start I am not a football fan at all, so maybe some easier-than-usual gameplay would suit me.

The idea is to enjoy it, not beat yourself over the head with a game.

Just my POV ;)

FWIW, i have played both, (On PS2). (I got fifa and borrowed Pro Evo off a mate) and imo fifa would suit you better mate...

Pro Evo is a bit more for the hard core footie fan.

But thats just my opinion! :)

thanks for your understanding flopps

yes give fifa a go by all means
im very sure u will like it

and then try pro evo!
infact download both demos and see what u feel!

p.s nice signature pic and nice quote :)

Fifa is inferiror to Pro Evo Soccer in every way except player/club names and commentry. Pro Evo has MUCHbetter ball physics, computer AI (opposition teams and your own team mates) and just genral gameplay e.g running with the ball ;) .

You dont have to be a football fan to see this. I used to be an extreme hardcore Fifa fan, then I read the reviews in magazines about Pro Evo and Fifa, and Fifa was slated in every review, always being way behind Pro Evo in every way. So I bought Pro Evo 1 and wasnt convinced much, then im still seeing Fifa being slated when 2003 comes out, so I buy Pro Evo 2 and KABOOM theres me shooting a hole in the Fifa 2003 disc with my pellet gun :). If you buy Fifa 2006 over Pro Evo 5 your a fool in my eyes.

Ok reef, seen.

I do actually listen to what you say and I've taken that on board.

But, as I said before, I'm a complete newb to Sports games, I've never enjoyed any Sports game yet. And I not a footie fan.

Only thing that attracted me to Fifa 2006 was my mate's enthusiasm for it.

We shall see, we shall see ;)
