I'm creating contracts where some information entered needs to go i
more than one spot in the contract. When I was looking in Word Help
it stated that if you wanted to put information in more than one plac
in a file you should use "ask fields." I looked for more help on "as
fields," but I couldn't find much and what I found I didn't understan
and/or couldn't make it work.

Is an "ask field" what I should be using in this instance? Could yo
please give me an example of how to do this. Any help will be greatl
appreciated. Thanks!

By the way, I'm in Word 2002

Hi,
You may want to download the ASK fields tutorial and UserForm Tutorial from:

http://www.addbalance.com/word/download/index.htm#Tutorials

Other options would include using a protected word form (forms toolbar) or

using a UserForm and VBA.

For an example see the ASK Field and UserForm tutorials at:

http://www.addbalance.com/word/download/index.htm#Tutorials

Examples of Word forms using formfields produced by the Forms toolbar can be
found at:

http://www.addbalance.com/defense/SPD/paymentV.zip (calculations)

http://www.addbalance.com/defense/SPD/spd_exp.zip

http://www.addbalance.com/defense/SPD/transreq.zip (tab order varied)

Other links about and to forms:

You should especially follow the links to Dian Chapman's articles.

REF fields are used to duplicate information from one place in a document to
other places. In online forms this updating is automatic. With Ask fields it
is Automatic (I think). With other methods it has to be programmed or you
have to update the REF fields manually.
