field memory????

I have XP home edition. I'm not sure what the name of
this function is and maybe I have it turned off but I
want my system to remember common fields, ie: e-mail
address and name and such I always have to type it in
instead of having the drop window in the field. Does
anyone know what I'm talking about? And can you help me?
