Field Formatting in Queries

I generally use Access for ad hoc queries as opposed to
application building. 99% of the time I want numbers
displayed with Standard, 0 formating. It is extremely
time consuming to have to set this every time I put a data
field in a query. Can this default be changed such that
all field formats are assume to be Standard ,0. Can a
macro be created to set the formatting for the currently
clicked filed in design view.

I hope someone sees your question and knows how to do it because I have
been struggling with a similar problem for several weeks!

I just want to change the format of a column of data from text to
number from within a query or macro. There has got to be a simple
answer to "how do you change the format of data in a table other than
manually?"

I hope an Access Expert see your question!!!!!!!!!
