OCAddiction gets a chance to put the FIC Radeon 9800 Pro on the test bench to see what it’s capable of. ATI has done a great with the performance of the R9800 and it is arguably the best video solution you can currently buy. So how does the FIC version stack up?

When running in the performance and balanced settings the Radeon 9700 kept up decently with our FIC R9800, but when the resolution was cranked to 1600x1200 and the quality settings were used, the R9800 walked away handedly from the 9700.

HOW MUCH?

Quote from another site ... mentioning no names. ;)

The £400 price tag for this card is equally dazzling. As a result, it’s difficult to recommend because unless you have a similarly turbo-charged PC, running at around 2GHz, your computer won’t be able to squeeze the full performance out of this card.

The Prophet’s full DirectX 9 compatibility doesn’t mean a lot either, as the games that support these extra features haven’t begun to appear.
Do you know ... I can build a new base system for the price of this card.

Think I'll wait a couple of years. :P

hehe, same here :)

This is a card for power users only! :brow:

I really don't know what manufactures are doing ... if we could actually get some benefit from such an item ok, but, its a little like putting racing tires on a Morris Minor, they'll work but you won't go any faster. ;)

:D :D :D

Well said, it is crazy to spend that kind of money just on a card. But, we can do nothing, there are folks who actually buy them!

Now where is my calculator, I must calculate how many CD's I can buy for that much amount!:brow:
