Fewer newsgroup posting errors?

It occurred to me this morning that I have seen very few double and
triple-posts in the past few months. A couple of you commented last year
that the ones we were seeing were due to problems in a web-based interface.
Any ideas what got fixed (specifically)?

:)

In my own case, I've never had such a problem (I rarely use a web
interface - will sometimes use Google Groups) until this past week
when motzarella.org had some problems. My newsreader never got a
confirmation when posting and would just hang there trying to post...
somehow I ended up with two or three identical posts.

I've only been using that news server for about a month or so.

That's pretty much what used to happen all the time in the Vista ngs. Folks
were seeing a false error that the posting had failed so of course they
re-sent. I always wondered if the connection was in the use of the links to
the communities that are in Vista's Help and Support Center since it started
right after Vista debuted. It wasn't Windows Mail.

In my case, a couple of times I shutdown the news reader (it appeared
to be stuck while trying to post), restarted it and then re-sent it
from the Outbox, where it was held.

A couple of other times I merely shut down the news reader... and then
went to Google Groups only to find it had been posted twice.
