A few words about fresh install.
The hard drive is blank. How just to check that the first boot device in my
system BIOS is set to the CD-ROM Drive? Is there a sence to create a
partitions in the unpartitioned space? (Hdd size is 40GB). Any advantages of
setup a smaller partitions? If so, how to set and what size?
Upgrade Report utility (chkupgrd.exe)for win2K show some incompatible
hardware: Display adapters Intel(r) 82815 Graphics Controller; Sound, video
and game controllers/ Avance AC'97 Driver for Intel(r) 82801BA Controller,
and incompatible software - Intel(r) Graphics Technology (in Control Panel).
Should be upgraded Intel Chipset software for Windows 2000 or only
incompatible components listed? (Graphics Driver)

Regards,
M.

Setting the CD as the 1st boot device varies depending on the BIOS you have.

The benefits of partitioning your drive to different partions can be speed
and data stability. For example if your OS is on a different partition and
it fails your data partiton can often still be accessed by OS reinstall.

If your drive was bigger than 40gb I would consider partitioning but at that
size I'd just leave as is and at some point in the future add a 2nd physical
drive and move data to that when you install it.

Check your mobo site, and other installed hw sites for availability of win2k
drivers, before you install.
If neccessary download and burn to cd

I would go with MB drivers

MB manufacturer refers to Intel Chipset software inf_v3.20.1008 from
5/6/2002 while on Intel website latest is ver.# 6.3.0.1007 from 12/16/2004.
