feet/inch to decimal

I'd like to have a cell where a person enters a length in
feet, inches and a fraction as text then have excel split
it apart into separate sections. For example:

User enters Cell A1: 50' 3 3/8"
Which would result in
A2: 50
A3: 3
A4: 3
A5: 8

But the user may also enter A1: 50' 6"
Which would result in
A2: 50
A3: 6
A4: 0
A5: blank

I've started with a bunch of text formulas taking it
apart, but it keeps ending up being really long formulas
with several cells used each time to hold temporary
calculations. Is there a real simple way?
