Feedback ... Resolved

This is not a moan, but it may be good if after a new thread has been posted about a problem or error that if the solution/s given have helped that may be some feedback is given, so that we get to hear that all is now fine? Just a thought;)

Yup, I would agree with that :) Its always nice to know it something works, as it will help others :D

Its a great idea, but its going to rely on folks coming back and telling us - not sure how we could ensure that?

Give 'em a phone call in the middle of the night ... and hang-up.

Ring.... Ring...

Can I suggest something???

On another uk site, there is the option of ticking a box to say that the issue has been resolved by the enquirer - would that work for us???

It seems to work ok on the other site (that is, providing the enquirer ticks the box). There are sometimes people that (for whatever reason) forget to say that their problem is sorted ok and there's not alot you can do about that I reckon.

Just a thought.......

That sounds like a good idea Gabs, I'm not sure how I could code it in - but it may be possible! Do you have a link to the other site so I could check it out? :)

... or you could get the Mods to Edit the title and add "Resolved" thread now closed.

naw ...

That still can only be done if the enquirer comes back and lets us know - unless we have a time limit of say 'X' months since the last post, then its closed?

Hi Ian

It's PC Advisor - they have a ticky boxy thingy to tick if issue resolved. Not everyone uses it but many do.

Totally dependant on human feedback for this, aren't we?

And time and time again over the years on this forum, I've seen peeps come here with a problem, people post offering advice...... and then we never hear from them again, lol ;)

Cheeses me off big time, sometimes.

But hey, that's human nature, so it no matter, really :)

Those that liked their advice, and liked this place, generally stick around.

And we ain't done so bad, have we? Good bunch of folks here.

If you can't find an answer to your problem by performing a search, start a new thread.

It would be nice to know if problem was ever resolved though, must admit. But, again, for that we're relying on human nature, which is, at best - unpredictable ;)

im gona agree with u on this one Flopps

I beleive majority of people join this site because they have a problem that needs solving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One thing does **** me off tho adding to your point Flopps this is appreciation
I saw a post last week where some1 was very rude to us, telling us our advice was not good enough! that gets to me! even if i didnt write nething for them!

and ive seen that most of the time these people never come back
they got what they wanted and are outa here
i think it would be nice if they did stick around adding to our growing community!

now with regards to feedback im going to be so grumpy about it
who really cares?!!!

most of the time I see that people just read what we write and never post back to tell us how the problem was resolved thus meaning that getting feedback would be impossible

So my personal conclusion is to forget about this. how about starting to charge new members for support?
how does a tenner per post sound to you all! lol :)

You will always get users who will use this for a 1 stop shop to sort out a problem/s and then we never hear from them again, but thats life. I am more of the view that their are a "hard core" of users who continualy use the great services of PCReview time after time.

Feedback is important as it's a good way of finding out how reliable the service is that users provide for others. So to Ian & the rest of the PCReview Team :thumb:

Well i`m going to confuse things even further :)

My first thread was an eye opener ..i got into a match with mucks and flops (and lived to tell the tale... )

Why i came back was the site layout ..it was clear, concise and easy to use and manouevre around (congrats Ian ):thumb:

Now i know the folks a bit better i enjoy it even more ...my mind visions of what each of you look like is quite interesting or alarming , whichever way you look at it .;)

Cheers from feckit

I find that i now give advice with more confidence and enjoy the banter, even more so to do with crunching (still don't understand why more people do not do it) but it does pee me off a bit, and this is the reason i started the thread that feedback is so poor. If i had a problem and someone helped me i would want to say thanks for it, may be i'm getting old (soon to hit 40:eek: ) I just wish i had found this place earlier (i'm sure your all now reaching for the kleenex or sick bags).

May be have a thread all about how things were started, how things work & what the future holds? Well just a thought.
