Hi,

I love MS products! So I bought MS Frontpage 2003 and created the following
website:

www.britishamericanuniversity.us

I am not a professional webmaster! I am doing it for the University and if
it is okay they will adopt it instead of the old website!

I need your feedback! Since old English font won't work on computers that do
not have this font installed, I created a JPEG picture and inserted this. I
used MS Paint to create this JPEG Image, now I noticed that on the first page
you visit it shows how it loads (I hate that!) while on the other pages it
does not! Do you have an idea how I might be able to solve this issue? I want
it to look as professional as possible!

Thank you

I look forward to hearing from you.

First, kill the midi if you want it to look as professional as possible.

Second, don't use ...Autoshapes, Draw, Line, Textbox they are IE
proprietary and not well displayed on other browsers, if at all. Create a
jpg or gif and Import it into FP then place the image in your design from
there.

The first time the image downloads you will see it loading, once it's in the
viewers cache you will not.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for replying. I like the midi! :O)

What do you mean by Autoshapes, Draw, Line, Textbox? I think I am not
familiar with these terms! :O(

Thank you for your help and feedback.

The image on the first website still downloads even after it is cached! This
is not the case for the other pages! Interestingly this never happened to me
before, I changed the imgae British-American University School of Law &
Business
today on the first page and all the trouble began!

No problem here with your jpg image on the index page or others.
(Moz/Mac). It loads from my cache every time and does not behave as you
describe. VML graphics written into your code are not supported by my
browser so are ignored. What I see is more vml commenting in the source
of the first page than on your others, though I have no idea if that's
what's contributing to the problem in your own view. I'll leave that to
the MVPs here.

Some other feedback- watch the way you name web files. According to the
normal conventions, spaces are not allowed in web file and folder names.
Many of your image and page files cntain spaces in their names which may
cause a problem for someone, somewhere down the line when
retrieving/displaying those files.

On second look I should clarify- I have no problem with your logo image
but think the image you mean is the one called Law Sc1.gif. That loads
to the other pages because it is written as standard html image code.
Your index page does not display thet image at all for me because it is
written as a vml graphic, thus ignored by my vml challenged browser.
Insert that image as you did on the other pages and your problem should
be solved.

The image below the main image is in a textbox or autoshape.

also:
don't use spaces (they will appear as %20) in folder or file names, and
stick to lowercase as well.

You may like the music but most people flee from bg music on websites.
