Hi,

We use MSI to install our VFP product. For some reason,
at one clients site whenever they go into our software the
MSI window appears trying to locate 'Visual Runtime 7
(SP1).msi'. This is located on our installation CD, which
I have browsed to, but we still get the same message.
I've tried copying the contents of the CD to the users
local c:\ drive and tried the same thing, which still gets
the same result. I've tried to uninstall the runtime7
opttion, but I still get the same result, so I'm a little
stuck now. The client is using Win2000 Pro.

Any ideas / suggestions would be great. Thanks!

I get a very similar error for a different situation:
I installed Adobe Acrobat 6 Standard on my Windows 2000
Server. Now, every time I launch Acrobat, the Windows
Installer also starts up and tries to install "Microsoft
Windows Journal Viewer". This installation process runs
for several seconds and then stops with the following
error message:

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network
resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or
enter an alternate path to a folder containing the
installation package 'Microsoft Windows Journal
Viewer.msi' in the box below." After several
cancellation actions on the Windows Installer, the Adobe
Accrobat application then opens.

I, too would like to know why MSI is attempting to run
and what the the solution to stopping this action is.
