i have had a false positive on a dll that is used for
some custom software with the latest definitions, could
single files be excluded from the scan to prevent
automatic quarantine while the problem is reported and
fixed?

In the Spyware Scan Settings under Full Scan you can select which folders
can and cannot be scanned.

I have found that if I unselect one or more subfolders on
C:\ (e.g. \program files) when you run the scan, a message
comes up

You have selected to run a full spyware scan on your
computer, however you have not included the main Windows
hard drive C:\ to be scanned.....
Would you like to include the main Windows drive C:\ in
your scan? Yes/no buttons. If I click no, it proceeds to
scan those folders on drive C:\ which I had checked, so
the selection works. If I click yes all the folders on C;\
are scanned, including the ones I had unchecked (i.e. it
resets all the check marks).

The message is very misleading in my opinion.

Also, if I uncheck a subfolder in, say, C:\Windows, the
Windows folder is also unchecked and there is no green
cross; but the scan works, including only the checked
folders in C:\Windows.

Edit on previous message:
On going back to select folders to scan, the green cross
does appear on the Windows folder (the folders that I'm
excluding ate the $NT updates folders and service pack
folders, no point scanning those).
