fdisk98 shortcomings

i need to partition an 80 gig hard drive and the MS fdisk doesnt see
the whole drive only around 10 gig...is there another dos fdisk or a
patch to update it?? hopefully freeware...

You have two choices. You can use the version you have and just be sure to
use percentages if creating partitions (it only reports drive sizes larger
then 64GB's incorrectly) and all will be well, or use a Windows ME boot disk
which has the latest version of fdisk which will correctly report the drives
size. You can download one from:

There's a later version out there, but if you select "Entire Disk",
it'll do a 80G (well, actually about 75G in computer terms) partition.

It just WRAPS at 64G binary ...

Theres a =TON= of freebies out 'there' ... most pretty good.

Easiest to find is "Free Fdisk" ... hardest( best MHO ) "Gdisk".

Go for Free Fdisk ... use Google.
