It is easy if you use the Windows XP CD,
1. Set your BIOS to boot from CD
2. Put the windows xp cd and press a key when prompted to
start cd boot.
3. Go through all the steps like if you were doing a
clean install. Whenever you are given fix windows or
recover windows options say NO or continue to Windows
install.
4. Once you get to the part when it lets you choose the
partition then delete it pressing the delete key (delete
all partitions you want)
5. Now since there are no partitions press C to create a
new one (or if you want the full disk simply hit enter)
After selecting appropriate size hit enter
6. Now you are asked how to format. Use NTFS (NON QUICK
if you really want to zero out all the hard drive).
Quick NTS format will simply clean out the hard drive TOC
and will start overwriting on the hard drive (but all the
files will be lost).
If you have partition magic then I would recommend that
you boot with the partition magic floppy and delete all
partitions then create them as you want and reboot with
the windows xp install CD.
