David
I have an HP Vectra running Win2K (obviously) with SP4
The FDD drive A has recently disappeared from My Computer
The drive is correctly installed (as hardware goes) and
can be accessed from a DOS boot
I can also access the drive if I start the Windows
Recovery Console
Using Computer Management (under Administatve Tools)and
checking System Info/Components/Problem Devices - the FDD
shows up with an error code 32
Under Device Manager the Floppy Disk controller and drives
are there but system reports an error with the FDD drivers
Have tried removing the hrdware and then letting windows
hardware wizard find and re-install, but this hasn't
helped at all, simply returning me to the same status
So, it is clear that there is no cabling problem or
physicall problem with the controller or the drive since
it is accessible under DOS and Windows Recovery Console
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions they can offer I
would be grateful
Thanks, David
