I picked up a bare bones computer with an Asrock motherboard and an Intel
Pentium 4 Celeron processor, 2.7 Ghz. I added a sound card, graphics card,
modem card, WestenDigital 80 Gb hard drive and a CD/DVD Player. Upon
booting up with Windows XP, I received an error message, "Searching for boot
record from floopy...not found", followed by "searching for boot record from
IDE-0...not found'. The next day when I went to do some troubleshooting, I
inserted a boot disk and booted up. I then received a floppy disk
controller error message. I have tried everything, from checking
connections, replacing cables and replacing the floppy drive. I still get
the same error message and not being able to boot with boot disk, there is
little I can do. Is this a motherboard issue and does it need to be
replaced. Any help will be appreciated.

You probalby get the IDE-0 error because you need to format the hard drive.
As to the floppy did you go to the cmos setup and tell it what kind of
floppy you have.

I would consider clearing the BIOS and resetting it back to its
defaults, if you are not able to get access to the floppy and the drive,
disk and cable are definitely ok.
