hey everybody,

i am trying to fax to a number in Sydney ... my modem gets confused and
thinks that a double 'ring-ring', that seems to be normal for the Sydney
telephone system is actually a busy signal ... is there a way to get around
this annoyance?

i am using MS Fax that came with WinXP ...

i have tried X1 and X0 in the modem INI string ... i am using Cardinal 56k
modem ...

appreciate all input!

Wrong group - try microsoft.public.windowsxp.print_fax.

I quit using FAX machines a long time ago. Sending via email is much
simpler, and is free. Doesn't whomever you are sending it to have access to
a PC?
