In the fax wizard, near the place where you enter the dialing number, there
is a check box called dialing rules. Disable it for all local numbers.

Ok, in response to that. I have the same problem. But, for even my
local numbers, we have to dial the area code with the number we are
calling. It is not long distance (something about not enough numbers
blah blah blah). So, unless I use dialing rules, the fax wizard will
not accept all the numbers (example: (555) 555-5555 )unless you use
dialing rules. Which places a (1) before the area code. Any advice
please?

Thanks in advance

For anyone else that has these silly rules with area code on every
number you dial out by your phone company. I couldn't use the ( ) for
area code, also no - between the numbers
