Fax will not send from the outbox

When a fax fails due to busy line or whatever, the fax sits in the outbox
and when I try to resend or restart both of these tools are greyed out and
it will not send. If I make another fax and then send that one then the one
in the outbox will then send as well.
Any ideas what could fix this problem would be much appreciated.

No, does this mean that the buttons will be greyed out until all the retries
have been used?

Indeed. The Help files will tell you that.

A failed fax will not be re-attempted until the retry period is finished.
You can reduce the retry period through Printers & Faxes > Fax > Properties
Devices > Properties. Once the fax enters retries exceeded state it can be
restarted so it resets the number of retries to zero & start all over again.

Thank You, I checked the number of retries which was 35 and have reduced
this number, everything is fine now thanks again to all with advice.
