Hi Everyone,

I wanted to have a play around with faxing. I've been using a null modem
cable to connect the serial ports of 2 pcs together for networking which
worked fine. (Shame XP doesn't support internet connection sharing using a
direct connection).

Under modems in device manager I still have the device "Communications Cable
between 2 computers". Unfortunately this is not offered as an option in the
fax configuration wizard, it only shows my intel pci modem.

Does anyone have an idea how I can get fax working between 2 pcs over a null
modem cable.

You can't. You're comparing apples and oranges. The direct cable
connection in any version of Windows that supports it is a NETWORKING
connection, it has NEVER been a Fax connection. The only device XP Fax
knows how to communicate with is an analog fax modem.
