Fax software

Hi,
Can someone recommend a fax software (to send and receive) that will work
with Vista?

Not all versions of Vista come with fax software, Home Premium for example.

Only Vista Business and Ultimate have the fax software. Perhaps Phil has
Home Basic or Premium.

Do you know how condescending you sound?.

When you buy a new computer, and you're not offered a choice of operating
systems, you get what comes on the system. For most people, the lack of a
fax utility isn't even an inconvenience. Of course, my Vista Business
edition didn't come with all that Media Center bloat and was considerably
less expensive than Ultimate.

That's a marketing decision. MS apparently felt that there isn't enough
demand in that market. However, there *is* enough demand for business
users, which is why it's in Vista Business.

Otherwise, pretty much every modem comes with fax software, and if you don't
already have a modem, you're going to need to get one to fax.

good point.. but I just see it like this:

a business would most likely have a dedicated fax machine..

while a home cant afford (or just don't have the space) to have a separate
machine only for faxes,
having the fax is your computer at home inside your computer is
convenient...

I have not up to this day seen a medium big business (more than a one man
show) use a computer for a fax machine..

It's been pretty common for employees of large businesses, who travel.
I've seen this many times.
