I'm a bit confused. I'm running Win Me and used W98se and W3.22
before that. My Win98se didn't come with fax software. The site
you linked to linked to a document that wasn't clear to me
whether it would work with WMe.
I'd like to put fax on to my box, but I'm really hesitant. I've
tried four different commercial fax programs in the past (never
with WMe). Each has proved a disaster with incoming faxes: the
program would seize the machine, even seize the phone line
without recourse other than killing the phone connection. This is
possible with an external modem; the only way to kill the
connection with an internal modem is to shut off the computer,
possibly losing work in memory.
On the other hand, perhaps something from MS itself may work
better with the OS, since they wrote both. Then again, I have
more faith in other companies to debug their stuff.
