Hey all! Has anyone seen a problem like this before? I just tried installing the MS fax services - mission successful - but when I go into the printer control panel and click "install a local fax printer", the fax appears for about 3 seconds and then disappears again. The fax modem is listed in the catalog as compatible, it is capable of faxing, and is working correctly. I'm using XP pro on a latitude c640.

Any insights would be much appreciated

Hey - Thanks for the reply - but yes, I had done the normal stuff before I ran into the problem. Interestingly, I can neither uninstall nor reinstall fax services at this point from the add/remove control panel.
