I have W2K SP4. Fax service was OK until recently when for some reason, fax
is only sent after the computer is shut down and restarted. I cannot recall
any specific changes to computer set-up that would have triggered this.
The fax service screens all show correctly, takes the information, but when
the summary screen shows (all correct information) and I click on 'Finished'
for send now, the screen disappears, the fax icon appears in the tray, but
nothing happens (no light on the phone). The outgoing fax doesn't show in the
fax queue although the fax printer icon appears in the tray. When the
computer is shut down and restarted, during the restart, the fax is sent,
even before W2K has comletely loaded. I've checked that the user has full
rights to fax (document and printer) and there are no error messages or
events logged. I'm sure this is not a modem issue, as the fax is transmitted
correctly and faxes are also received correctly.
