I am running Windows 2000 Pro. I have only one printer.
I am using HCF 56K modem that came w/my Dell. I can send
faxes just fine. I have Windows fax set up to save
incoming faxes to hard drive AND to print. However, when
receiving, sometimes it works and saves to hard drive, but
it only prints a blank page. Other times, the status
monitor says "reception error" and won't receive at all.
The fax event log says something like "initiating, DSR
low, check to see if modem is turned on". Modem is on and
fine for everything else, so don't know what this means.
How do I get the fax to print received faxes AND to
receive those that seem to cause an error? Do Windows
updates/service packs/etc. adversely affect fax
capabilities?
