I wish to activate the microsoft fax software. My xp was
preloaded so when I am asked to insert the XP Cd I cannot
comply. Where do I find the file that it needs to
activate itself? cheers

I don't understand what you mean by "activate the Microsoft fax software" -
Windows itself requires activation (or not in your case as it was
preinstalled) but individual components do not. What is it that you are
attempting to accomplish? Are you attempting to /install/ the fax applet?

Stuart
Microsoft's web site, do a search on Windows XP and then one for Fax Service. They have full instructions on ho
to install the fax service. I just did this with mine. Good Luck!

When you install the fax service from Add/Remove Components and it asks you
for certain files redirect it to %windir%\i386 folder.
