when in explorer i used to be able to move the corsor over to the left and
the favs listing would appear, and would appear each time i went over to the
left, now when i exit explorer and bring explorer up again the faves do not
appear automaticaly i have to click the fav button again. i do not have any
bugs that norton can find can anyone help

AFAIK that is only available in Full Screen. Press F11 to enter Full
Screen.

Is the pushpin in (locked) or out (autohide). Sometimes toggling the setting
works.

Also, deleting these registry keys *may* help:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\window_placement

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Desktop\OldWorkAreas\OldWorkAreaRects
