Hello All,
Is there a way to get your bookmarks back in alphabetical order? They
started out that way but lately it has just has put them at the bottom of
the favorites. I can put them in order manually but just wondered why it
quit doing it automatically.
Thanks,
Jim Basnett

Open Favorites from the menu item, not the toolbar icon. Then right click
any of them and choose Sort by Name.

If you want them to automatically alpha-sort even as new entries are added,
you need a registry edit. Navigate to:

HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Menu
Order\Favorites

and delete the value named 'Order'. Also delete this value for any
subfolders. Then, with the favorite key highlited, click on Edit >
Permissions and deny 'Full Access' to Administrators, yourself, etc. This
will prevent the key from being automatically recreated.

What I need is to place my Favorites in the order that I like.

I know that it can be done as that is the normal setting but some how its got
stuffed up

Win98se with the latest IE6.

Yes but it reverts back to alphabetical order when you exit and run IE6
again..

The Links in the folders stay were I put them, but not the folders.

I have since found out that it Uses a Binary Table in the registry to hold
the places, but if you meddle with the Favorites folder that get stuffed up.

So how can I regenerate this Binary table that is stored in the Registry..?

Thanks

Please reply to one of your original threads here.

But your Reply does not help to fix this Problem, may you just don't know.?

I have never in all my years in using Usenet had a MVP fix a sticky problem
at all.

And if you keep reposting about the same problem, rather than replying to
your original thread, you prolly won't.

No I changed the Post if you Look.

I noticed that XP can regenerate its Binary list but not with Win98se.

I just draged the Fav Folder into XP and all was OK..
