Kathy

I was copying my favorites into a new folder by selecting
all and then copy to: I was prompted that a certain
hyperlink could not be copied because of the way the name
was written. While all other hyperlink names were still
selected/highlighted, I renamed the one that was causing
the problem. When I clicked to deselect the one I
renamed, ALL of the selected files were renamed to the
name of the one that I fixed. Now I have 89 hyperlinks
in my Favorites folder with the same name!!!

How can I get back the original names for all of those
hyperlinks other than clicking each one to see what site
is associated and rename all 89 individually???? I tried
hitting "UNDO Rename" and it only took me back three
steps before that option was no longer available. There
has GOT to be a way to reset the hyperlink names to their
original names.

Please respond directly to my e-mail.

Thanks so much for your assistance!

What folder were you trying to copy the favorites into? Are you trying to
duplicate them for another user or do a backup? If so then in IE just go to
File-Import and Export and export the Favorites to a file.

Immediately after something like this happens, try "Undo." You can find
that under the Edit menu in an Explorer window and usually in the context
menu (right click menu) as well. Also, Ctrl+Z is the universal keyboard
shortcut for Undo.

If you do not use "Undo" right away, the opportunity is gone. The only
remaining options would be to restore the folder from a backup (if you have
one) or rename each shortcut manually.
