Matt

I imported a list of favorites from my home computer into an existing
list on my work computer (Both running Win 98SE and IE 6 with all the
latest updates) but for some reason the imported list just sits on top
of the existing one and refuses to allow me to organize it.. I've tried
"Sort by name" and actually dragging the links around in the list but
every time I shut IE down and start it back up again they go back to the
same old order. The existing set and any new links I add will "Sort by
Name" but they all just sit under the imported list. I've tried running
the repair feature in the control panel>add/remove programs list but it
doesn't do any good.

Anyone have any ideas?

A couple of possibles. Perhaps you ended up, as I did, with one set of
Favorites as a subfolder for the other Favorites - i.e.,
c:\windows\favorites\favorites. Or, depending on how you brought them
in, your imported list may have had its attributes changed so it can't
be altered (right-click in Windows Explorer, properties).

We're supposed to import them via IE \ file menu \ import and export.
