Favorites missing

All of my favorites (of which I had many) are no longer
in my favorites folder. I had links stored in the
favorites folder and the links folder. For some reason
there is only 3 links out of 100+ that are left. I have
performed no new updates.
I'm at a complete loss. Ive tried system restore and
that does not help. I have Win XP pro. any suggestions?
 
next time save them to diskette and purge the list once
week.....

All of mine are suddenly missing as well. I can access
them thru explorer under "windows'favorites" but they are
not on microsoft internet explorer. Any suggestions???
Seems weird that this is happening to both of us at the
same time.

Any chance that the setting for personalized favorites has become
checked? Tools \Internet Options \ Advanced tab "enable personalized
favorites menu". If it is checked, clear it, then apply and okay your
way out. Reboot.

Other than that, I'd suggest you use Search to look for *.url to see
if the Favorites are still on your computer, and the path to them. Be
sure to designate advanced settings for hidden folders and subfolders.
