I AM USING WINDOWS XP XP2 AND INTERNET EXPLORER 6 SP2. AFTER RUNNING A
AUTOMATED DOWNLOAD, I WENT INTO IE. WHEN I WENT TO MY FAVORITES LIST, IT WAS
EMPTY. ANYONE KNOW HOW I CAN GET MY FAVORITES LIST BACK.

Please do not post in capitals. They are hard to read and you may get
ignored.

What automated download did you run?

It is possible your Registry entries are wrong.

You can change the value of Favorites in the Registry in these
two keys: (ignore the second if the value is not there)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders

For Windows 2000/XP:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders]
Set the Favorites path to : %USERPROFILE%\Favorites

The above should be a REG_EXPAND_SZ value, not REG_SZ
