First oddity
On Destinations page of Favorites Export Wizard:
Export to a File or Address:

Second oddity
F:\\bookmark.htm

Why does the default path&filename show *two* backslashes!?
If left like that, ie Favorites Export Wizard takes a while to proceed to next page, then fails to export in last page.

----

Searched reg for
F:\\
finds nothing
Then searched reg for
bookmark.htm
finds MRUs whose filename contained "bookmark.htm"
....\HKEY_USERS....\Explorer\ComDlg32\OpenSaveMRU\htm

Click Start, Run and type REGEDIT. This opens the Registry Editor. Navigate
to:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
In the right-pane, double-click FAVORITESEXPORTFILE and set it's path (and
filename).

Example: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Desktop\bookmark.htm

Click Start, Run and type REGEDIT. This opens the Registry Editor.
Navigate to:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
In the right-pane, double-click FAVORITESEXPORTFILE and set it's path
(and filename).

This reg value has already been set by the Export Wizard to the last (destination) value of path/.../filename which was exported.
(and of course this is a normal path/../filename as in your example below)

Example: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Desktop\bookmark.htm

hmm, maybe here's a complication:
I've used right click, Properties (long ago) to move my My Documents folder to another partition. I may also have used
FolderRedirector.exe utility.

And, I'm using the drive letter *directly* as the mydocs folder. Directly on the "letter" (partition, not real drive)

Example:
My Documents
is renamed
Docs
and its location is
E:\

So far I've seen no trouble from this, but maybe this could be what's confusing export wiz?

thanks for the suggestion
