Favorites Don't Display

If I click on the "View" Menu on the toolbar, then select Explorer Bar, then
Favorites, so that it shows my Favorites off to the left hand side of my
explorer, nothing appears. And if I go to a page and say "Add to Favorites,
it never adds it and never shows it..either to the left hand side or even
pulling down the Favorites menu. Any ideas?

Friends, I have a similar problem to RedSoxFan. But I have the additional
problem that the Favorites button brings up History instead of Favorites. In
any case, hitting the add or organize buttons has no effect. Any iideas.
