After using Disk Cleanup (Win 98SE), most of my IE favorites (folders
and pages) disappear. Does anyone know what is causing this?

You might want to check to see if personalized menus have somehow
become authorized under tools \ internet options \ advanced (if so,
remove the checkmark and apply\okay your way out). You do mean the
ordinary built-in Disk Cleanup, right?

Yes I use the Windows one (accessories > system tools > Disk Cleanup).
I can't find a personalized menus setting. Which advanced settings
catagory should it be under (browsing, accessibility, security, etc.)?

Advanced is tab in IE\ tools\ internet options. Kelly's Korner (an XP
resource) has a registry fix to restore it if missing, but you're
using Win98SE.

Thanks, I found the advanced tab but there isn't a personalized menus
setting in there.
