A couple of days ago I turned my auto update feature on. The system
downloaded updates and I installed them. Now when I log on into my user all
of my favorites have disappeared from ie6. Any ideas on how to restore my
favorites?

Thanks

Ramesh,

Thanks for the link. It did not work. Everytime I tried to change the
shell folder favorites it keeps reverting back. Any ideas?

First, you need to alter the User Shell Folders path, not the Shell Folders. The Shell Folders Favorites value will update automatically, based on the User Shell Folders value. If you did it correctly and the problem persist, set a registry audit (for 2000/XP Pro) or use RegMon to see which application is changing the Favorites Shell Folders value. And, you've not mentioned the Operating System you're using :o( Also, what was the incorrect value you saw in the registry?

Reset the Shell Folders paths to defaults:

Using FolderRedirector utility to redirect special folders in Windows XP:

Ramesh,

THanks for the info. The operating system is xp home. How do I set a
registry audit?

You need XP Pro to set an audit. BTW, have you tried altering the User Shell
Folders key? And you din't mention the value present there.?
