Favorite Highlight Color

When the Favorites menu is being displayed (after clicking Favorites in the
menu bar) I am able to click on a favorite. As soon as the webpage loads,
the selected Favorite turns white/opaque so I cannot see which favorite I
have selected. I am using IE 6.
I have tried resetting IE to the defaults, using the Display control panel
to set colors, but I cannot seem to figure out the problem.

Update: When I close the Favorites list and re-open it, the highlight color
is back until I click on a new link.

??? The one you have selected is the white/opaque one. The background
I see makes it very clear which one is selected. If it is not clear,
then change it in Control Panel-Display (You don't say what operating
system you use, so I can give no more instructions, but the item is 3D
Objects on my computers in a couple of operating systems)

I don't think you should be "clicking" on an item in the menu.
That would cause the item to open and the menu to disappear.
If the menu was still showing after an item was clicked
that could mean you have a problem with a video driver.

To avoid the confusion of opening an item and then perhaps seeing
the menu in an undefined state before it is completely closed,
tell us what you see if you just move your mouse pointer over the menu items.
Even better, to avoid the question of some kind of interaction
with your mouse driver too, tell us how the menu works
if you just use it with your keyboard. E.g. press Alt-a, and then
use CursorDown or CursorUp to highlight a menu item
instead of "clicking" on it with your mouse.

In that case, Control Panel-Display-Appearance tab-Advanced and change
3D Objects to give more contrast to the background (item Window)

This is assuming I am reading your post correctly.
I assume you mean you are using the Favorites bar obtained by pressing
the Favorites button in the Button bar (not the menu bar as you
stated). Please confirm.
