Edward

Does anyone know if there is a way of hiding - and displaying - the favicon
icon in the address bar and alongside favorites in IE6? I have placed and
icon (favicon.con) on my website but it does not show.

TIA

Ed

Thanks, Alan.

The extension for the file used was, of course, correct and was created with
an Icon editor at 16x16, as you say. Thanks for the advice, I will go
immediately to check your old notes and I'll let you know how I get on.

Best wishes,

Ed

Hi, Alan.

Well, it gets stranger!

I had no luck whatever until I changed the file favicon.ico to Favicon.ico I
now have it in "Favourites". However, is there a way to have it pop up in
the IE6 address bar?

Ed

Hi Edward - Well, it won't solve your problem, but . .

Left click and drag the IE icon in the Address bar toward the right end
until it changes to an arrow and then release. :)

Thanks, Jim.

I now have it showing in the address bar for the opening (home) page but it
looks like I have to carry out some sort of association with every page on
the site for it to be there all the time. With 80 odd pages, I decided to
forget it....!!

.....Unless that is, you have any suggestions? :-))
