You don't say what machine you have (make), you don't say what driver
(video, sound, modem etc).

May I suggest that you go to link below and download the zip-file of
'Aida32' ('Personal System' or 'Enterprise System'), unzip the file to a new
folder (on 'Desktop' perhaps) and then run the executable in the folder.
The program will give you a mass of information about your machine, it will
(often as not) even give a link to where you can download drivers for each
component of your machine.
If/when you have finished with the program you can simply delete the folder
that you unzipped it too, though program is well worth keeping.

'Aida32'

If the old driver was working okay, you could use "driver rollback" to go
back to it.

Where to find new drivers? It depends. If the system is a laptop, start at
the manufacturer's site. This is often a good place to start if the system
is an OEM desktop unit as well. If no luck there, then check the hardware
manufacturer's website.

Patrick suggest downloading Aida32. I concur. this is an excellent bench marking utility that will give you a lot of links to the manufacturers sites for both your hardware and software. If you want to use the info tool in XP go>start\run and type in msinfo32 and then click the software branch in the tree view on the left and you will then see system drivers and if you click that you will see all the various drivers you have along with their version numbers. There is one piece of advice from Patrick that is completely fool hardy and should never be done. He suggests unzipping to a folder on your desktop. Folders and files should never be kept on the desktop. This is and was always designed to house shortcuts only. Constant addition of either large files or large numbers of files can result in excessive boot times as each and every folder must first be loaded before the desktop can be accessed. Not the most efficient use of XP resources. Good luck.
