I bought a new Acer laptop from Acer online on 21st October and it arrived on 24th Oct. After about an hour's use the keyboard stopped working (not typing when pressed) and the screen was covered in horizontal lines and then a big black blob appeared on the screen. I called Acer and they said they'd replace it because it is faulty.
They sent a courier to pick up the laptop on 27th Oct. I just called them for an update and they are now saying that they won't replace it because it was damaged in transit - I have no idea whether further faults have occured in transit but clearly it wouldn't have been in transit to them if there wasn't something wrong with it!
Anyone else got any experience of dealing with Acer (or to be precise Esplex Ltd - the company that seems to 'be' Acer)? I've spoken to the office of fair trading and they say Acer has to replace the laptop as it was faulty but they are unbelievably rude and seem unwilling to comply with the law.
